A celebration of life and hope festival for runners, walkers, experienced, inexperienced and their families. 2013 brings a colorful confetti explosion at the 5K start, special KIDS COLOR DASH (kids WILL get color on their clothing!), 5K prizes will be given to the top female/male finisher, top fundraisers, and most colorful 5K attire! This year's festival will feature the band TOASTER!
Help Amanda the Panda’s grief support services by participating in the annual 5K Run/Walk. This is part of an evening festival with local food vendors, live music with Toaster, and lot of fun activities for everyone!. This timed event has become an annual tradition for children and families grieving the death of a loved one. Children will enjoy an inflatable double slide, frisbee spin art, face painting, balloon animals and much more!
The scenic 5K course makes one loop around a local lake passing underneath shade trees and along the Des Moines River. Two-thirds of the course is packed gravel with the remaining path on an asphalt trail. A Playground, beach, and dog park are all within the park and there is plenty of parking!
During the event families will be honoring loved ones in Memory Lane, featuring "Colors of Hope" luminaries placed along the paved trail by the beautiful lake.
